    Abstract: This dataset shows general physiographic provinces (major types of terrain) of Guam. It was developed for the purpose of the Digital Atlas of Northern Guam www.hydroguam.net. This dataset is based on information from the newest USGS Geologic Map, soils map by Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and 2007 LiDAR data (JALBTCX).
    Purpose: This dataset shows physiographic provinces (major types of terrain) of Guam.
  Use_Constraints: Data set is for planning purpose only and not for use in litigation. The Island Research & Education Initiative (IREI) cannot assume liability for any damages or misrepresentations caused by any inaccuracies in the data or as a result of the data to be in a particular system.

    Process_Step:
      Process_Description: A shapefile of the outline of Guam was used as a starting point. The file was then 'cut' to create the different physiographic zones which are based on geologic, soil, and topographic information. Whenever possible boundaries from the source layers were traced. The topology was checked using ET Geowizard tools "Clean Polygon Layer" and "Clean Gaps" and other geoprocesses. Added gemoemtry fields and calcuated geometry.
